Taylor Swift, at the age of just 20, made a mark for herself among the legends in the music industry. Whether on stage with thousands of fans cheering her, or just in her private life, she has always known how to impress everyone. Here is a list of interesting facts about the pop icon, who has captivated audiences from all over the world:

  1. She is an American singer cum songwriter known for her narrative songs, has won 10 Grammy Awards, including twice bagging the prize for Album of the Year, making her the first women to do so.
  2. She was born Taylor Alison Swift on December 13, 1989, in Reading Pennsylvania, to Andrea Gardner, a mutual fund marketing executive and Scott Kingsley Swift, a stockbroker. She has a younger brother, Austin Kingsley Swift.
  3. Swift attended Alvernia Montessori School and The Wyndcroft School before graduating from Wyomissing Area Junior / Senior High School. Though her first love was horse riding, she started to develop interest in music at school and performed in numerous production at Berth Youth Theatre Academy including ‘Bye Bye Birdie and ‘Annie.’
  4. She actually started out her career in acting, not music and regularly traveled to New York City for vocal and acting lessons.
