3 Benefits Of Eating Watermelon (Pixabay)

There are foods that are gifts of nature. Not only is it delicious, but it also contains a lot of ingredients that are good for our body. Watermelon is one of them. In this article, I will introduce three benefits of watermelon.

Watermelon is rich in antioxidants, nutrients, and vitamins A and C. You can make juice and drink it, or you can drink it with meals. It contains ingredients called lycopene and beta-carotene, which are effective ingredients to prevent and treat cancer.

The more ripe the watermelon, the better for the body. 90% of watermelon is water. Therefore, it can also be helpful in treating dehydration, kidney problems, and anemia. Let’s take a closer look at the three benefits of watermelon.

1. Strengthen the heart

Watermelon contains a component called citrulline, a component that turns into arginine. These two amino acids affect the condition of the arteries and improve blood circulation. It is also good for cardiovascular function.

Arginine and citrulline are essential components for the production of nitric oxide. It is a component that makes arteries and blood vessels elastic.

2. Helps with erectile dysfunction

It may sound surprising, but watermelon has properties similar to vasodilators. It is used to treat vascular disorders.

However, it is not clear how much you need to eat to see these effects. Still, those who want to treat erectile dysfunction may benefit from eating watermelon.

3. It is highly nutritious

Watermelon is a diuretic and hydrating fruit. However, in terms of nutrition, it is not lacking much. Watermelon is not only delicious, but also contains a lot of nutrients. Like some other fruits, it is highly nutritious.

100 grams of watermelon contains the following nutrients:

8 g carbohydrates
0.6 g protein
0.2 g fat
30 grams of calories
0.5 g of fiber
Vitamin A 570 IU
Potassium 112 mg
Magnesium 11 mg
0.2 mg of iron
Vitamins such as B1, B2, B3, B6
Minerals such as manganese and phosphorus
We usually eat a lot more watermelon than 100 grams. Even in such a small amount, the nutrients described above are abundantly contained. Therefore, watermelon is a particularly recommended fruit for athletes, and it is also a fruit that athletes enjoy eating.
