The USA is probably among the most amazing and thrilling places on earth adventurers would quite excitedly jump on the first exploratory chance they get. 1. Rawah Wilderness, Colorado

You would be forgiven if you mistook this beautiful piece of paradise to be located somewhere in Europe as opposed to being in the USA. You would be wrong though, as the Rawah is a 78,000-acre piece of wilderness in northern Colorado just short of the Wyoming border. It features a remarkable 26 lakes, up to 76 miles of trails throughout the untrammeled landscape, thick woodland and granite peaks patched with snow. Adventurers might encounter wildlife like deer and elk while maneuvering through this beautiful place.

2. Cliff Palace, Mesa Verde National Park Colorado

Still in Colorado, the Cliff Palace at the Mesa Verde National Park is another destination worth the attention of an intrigued adventurer. It is the largest of its kind in North America and hides tales of the Puebloans whose ancestors are believed to have built this palace somewhere between 1190 and 1260 AD. Adventurers are faced with an extra challenge of requiring to be relatively physically fit thanks to a physically demanding one-hour long walk and something involving a 100 feet or 30 metres vertical climb.

3. Haleakala National Park, Hawaii

Featuring a profoundly dominant hulking rock highlighted by four detailing little trees sprouting from the top of the rock and would require a relatively short but demanding steep hike up the rock to reach the top. Once at the top, adventurers can enjoy the twinkling and sparkling stars during clear skies and can take some of the best pictures during spectacular sunrises or sunsets.

5. White Sands National Monument, New Mexico

It is another unearthly-like place on earth and in the USA. This 275-square-mile amazing landscape in New Mexico is highlighted and characterized by gypsum sand making up magnificent dunes that make for the perfect guided evening walks as adventurers marvel at the beautiful sunset. The White Sands National Monument is special as the dry climatic conditions of New Mexico is the only possible explanation that attempts to solve the puzzle of how and why the sand naturally occurs in such large quantities considering the gypsum in the sand ought to dissolve on contact with water, denying the sand the spectacular white color. 

6. Hamilton Pool Preserve, Texas

When a sheltering limestone roof caved in on itself, this beautiful and highly sought after pool came into existence and has ever since defined itself as an adventurous must-visit destination. Situated just miles west of Austin, a 50 feet waterfall feeds this green pool. It completes a Caribbean-like environment making the Hamilton Pool Preserve among the most popularly visited places in Texas. It is totally worth it if you need prior reservation arrangements made before visiting the place.

7. Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah

Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni has quite the resembling twin in the Bonneville Salt Flats. This spectacle in Utah sits on an underestimated 30,000-acre piece of wilderness and is a distant consequence of an ancestral dried up Lake Bonneville. It features remnant salt deposits and a sprawling flat plain and offers majestic and beautiful scenes during the winter when a shallow pool of water accumulates on the plains surface to mimic a giant mirror. You might want to stick to your designated spots while exploring this place, preferably by car.

8. Haiku Stairs, Hawaii

The Haiku stairs look like a structure pulled right from a Walt Disney fantasy or fairy tale movie. The dizzying stairway creeps up the Oahu’s green Ko’olau Mountains and consists of over 4,000 stairs painstakingly built by the U.S. Navy way back in 1942. It has, however, been neglected and abandoned as a lawful requirement thanks to the determination of its unsafe nature. The Haiku stairs have since remained unused and only remains to be admired from a distance. 

9. Bowling Ball Beach, California

Along the northern shoreline of the Schooner Gulch State Beach in California, hundreds of spherical sand stones transform the beach into a phenomena-type environment worthy of an adventurous intrigue. It looks like a couple of giant humans lost their tournament bowling balls and left them forever forgotten on the shores of a California beach, impossibly wedged into the sand. It is a spectacle to marvel upon when the tide is low.

10. Ah-Shi-Sle-Pah Wilderness, New Mexico

The name of this place alone is enough to intrigue any adventurous spirit out there with a knack for historical and natural formations occurring through millenniums. The bizarrely occurring landscape features mushrooming rock towers and some pretty uninhabitable conditions that hide historical icons including dinosaur fossils, some of which have been discovered by daring explorers. The Ah-Shi-Sle-Pah wilderness is highlighted by pale clay formations consequent of an erosion effect through thousands of years. It is known for its challenging conditions and would require some considerable amount of experience in ultimate hiking to venture into this relatively pathless wilderness.
